New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum Though often perceived as black magic, Voodoo is both a faith and a culture. The museum explains the nature of voodoo and chronicles the history and major practitioners. Paintings, sketches, photographs, clothing, furniture, and other works are included from a wide variety of cultures and time periods. Ambrose, the 70,000 square foot facility is dedicated to chronicling the efforts of those who fought on the beaches of Normandy and those who worked in the factories of America.
A variety of exhibits are used to illustrate the huge scope of the invasion as well as the personal sacrifices of brave men and women. home to exhibits, artifacts and documents pertaining to the Civil War. Most exhibits have a Louisiana or New Orleans focus, illustrating what it was like to serve in the state militia or live in Union-occupied New Orleans. Louisiana State Museum The rich and varied histories of Louisiana and New Orleans are well represented at the Louisiana State Museum.
